Tonight, just as the light fell behind the trees, I drove out to photograph a really sweet little guy. Here are a few to share, many more good ones to follow.

Native Vines Winery, Real Life Photography
Sunday, August 29, 2010
Last night lent itself to good times at the Native Vines Winery in Lexington NC. Friends gathered and enjoyed good music, and wine. My rugrats were not interested in the music, but the had fun playing football.
And when they weren't having fun tackling each other the horses peeked their interest.
My maternal instincts kicked in and I warned everyone that they should be careful with their fingers, that those mouths were full of teeth. But I was ignored. And then......
this happened....
But you must understand that this:
Looks like this to a three foot high child:
Understandable it looked like the horse wanted a snack consisting of small children. This sent some of the babes into the laps of loved ones.
Once the sunset, and the fire was lit. The band started to play and the fun continued for hours.
Hope your weekend was as fun as mine,
Melissa

North Carolina Photographer, Lexington Shoot.
Here are a few shots from Parker's session today. We sure had a blast.
Parker was a busy bee this morning. We kept him moving and he provided us with some fun shots.
For me the highlight of the session was seeing his face light up when the train came down the tracks. But I bet you he enjoyed his watermelon the most.

When practicing new exposure tricks I grab my tripod and head out in search of cool trees. This scene is in the magnificent field across the street from our house.
Take a tip from me and when you are learning new things about your camera, find a subject that stands still yet graceful... look for a tree.

I stumbled across this vintage poster and thought.... wow, this sums it up.
What makes me happy? My family and friends, antiques, rearranging my furniture (which I do weekly), keylime pie, cleaning..not really but I seem to do it all the time. Gardening makes me happy, and rainy days. I am always happy when there is the chance to create something, and my camera is my favorite creating tool.
Happiness is seeing eight day old babies in my studio, and the new light of joy they bring to their parents.
